Founded in 1988 as a delicatessen by Deiniol ap Dafydd and Chandra Dafydd, today Blas ar Fwyd (Welsh for ‘appetite’) encompasses artisan production of over 60 hand-made foods, a first-rate wine merchants, a café (Amser Da), a high quality outside catering business and, importantly, the distribution hub for the quality foods and drinks from Wales’ best producers.
Blas are our regular suppliers of milk and dairy products including fine cheeses, organic milk and double cream from Daisy Bank Farm in Montgomery. They do have a much wider selection of Welsh artisan products and also alcoholic drinks but not many are organic. Check the description in the catalogue before ordering. Generally we are able to order right up to the Sunday evening before the Thursday delivery and most items are available singly. Also the overall minimum order is quite small so we have no problem predicting that we shall be ordering from Blas every fortnight. Check out their catalogues here.
