Organic North is a members-run co-operative, the largest and longest-established wholesalers of certified organic produce in the north.From its base on New Smithfield’s Market in Manchester, they are on a mission to help mend our broken, wasteful and polluting food system. They have enjoyed close relationships with some farmers for over 25 years and have been able to provide UK grocers, veg-box schemes, food processors, buyer’s co-ops and many more besides consistently with weekly organic fruit & veg.
Fruit & Veg orders
Our list of everyday fresh fruit & veg comes in bulk sacks/boxes so we have to divide the goods into your separate orders. Also we are almost certainly going to have a surplus of perishable stock on our hands and that surplus will either be donated to a worthy cause or else you’ll end up with lucky bags for you to distribute to worthy recipients. The cost of that surplus will be borne EQUALLY by everyone participating in the Organic North. order so if you just want to buy 3 apples a fortnight you could find you’ll be paying £1 for the apples and £3 for the donation. Sorry but that is how it works.

Secondly Organic North have over 1,000 food and drink (yes wines and spirits included) items listed every week and you can download the latest list by clicking the link below. Unlike the regular fruit & veg order items, we cannot organise to split a six pack case of wine so if you want these others items please check the minimum quantity because that is what you will be ordering. If in doubt ask Paul or Liz to explain.The idea is that you can use our members forum to ask other members if they wish to split a case/pack with you.
Prices
The Organic North buying window opens at 2.30pm every Tuesday and we have to assess quickly what is available from where and at what price and make buying decisions. For that reason it is impossible for us to give you a firm price in advance and prices can vary widely from week to week and season to season.The most recent full list is set out below and we can expect broadly similar availability and prices when we next order but we cannot guarantee prices. Remember you are trusting us to make that decision for you and you are expected to honour that commitment.
